Overview
Within Manage, there are five different ordering types available to your venue to use:
- Counter - Ordered in the venue but collected by customer from a collection point
- Dine In - Ordered in the venue and delivered to table by staff
- Pickup - Ordered outside the venue and collected by customer (similar to a phone or text order)
- Delivery - Ordered outside venue and delivered by venue (or Door Dash)
- In-venue - Room Service
What is the default ordering type?
When customers scan your QR codes to open up your menu, you control what the default ordering type will be via the Manage portal. E.g. If you offer order & pay via me&u, this usually means you will be offering a Dine in menu so the default ordering type would be 'Dine in.'
Why do you have to set this up?
It reduces the steps required to place an order, making it easier for your customers.

Counter Pick Up
Counter Pickup is used for dine-in orders that guests pick up at the bar, counter, or service window. When using Counter Pickup, you can also send 2 texts to the customers; one when food is ready and one when drinks are ready for collection.
Counter Pickup orders are easily managed in your Live Orders page within Manage.

Pick up/Takeaway
Pick up/takeaway is used for takeaway orders that the customer needs to pick up from the venue. When using pick up, you can send multiple SMS messages to the customer to let them know there order is being prepared, when it is estimated to be ready, and when it's ready for collection. These SMS messages are customisable in manage (we'll take you through this in the next module).

Delivery
Delivery is used to deliver takeaway orders via doordash or your own venue drivers to the customers.
When using Delivery, you can send multiple texts to the customer to let them know there order is being prepared, when it is estimated to be picked up, and when it's on the way (These texts are so customisable in manage)
These Takeaway orders are easily managed in your live orders page.
